Job Market

I am having a very hard time finding a job around here. The biggest problem that I am coming across, is the lack of available IT positions in the Utah area. Perhaps it is just me, but no one seems like they want to hire me. I have been out of work since May 1st. Once I find a position, I would like to be able to stay there for quite a while.

I have been working through Tek Systems a temp agency which does IT Staffing, but to no avail, I was hoping that perhaps I might get on doing IT at America First Credit Union, but the hiring manager there doesn't seem to be returning calls very much. I had an interview there with the HR guy a week ago, I called him back last Friday, and he said that the hiring manager was out of the office all week, and he said something about possibly giving the applications to the assistant manager, the one right below the hiring manager, but I still haven't heard anything on it.

There is a temp position starting on July 2nd but it is only going to last 2 or 3 weeks. I worked doing the same thing the first week of June, the position was supposed to be to replace a bunch of computers at the Citi Group call center in Layton, and it was originally supposed to last 3 weeks to 2 months, at least that is what the career coordination lady at my school said, then when I go to fill out the paperwork at Tek Systems, they tell me it is only going to be the three weeks. Well it was supposed to start on May 14th, but it ended up being postponed 3 weeks because the equipment that I was supposed to install had not yet arrived. I am not sure if it was the fault of the person ordering the equipment, Dell, or the shipping company, but I didn't really like being put off for three weeks. then when I got there, the manager over the project had already done 13 out of the 40 computers as test systems to make sure everything would go smoothly, so I got the project that on my first day there I was told would take 2 weeks, done in 3 days. they had to scrounge around for more work to keep me busy until the end of the week. So there I was once again unemployed.and it was my own fault that time because I worked too fast. The job got done with good quality, but I guess that they didn't expect it to take such a short time. This next position coming up is to replace 130 computers. which will probably take about 2 or 3 weeks. But I am not sure that it will not be postponed just like the last job because of lack of equipment.

Am I the only one having problems like this, or have there been others that have the same problem that I do?
